What does a professional organizer charge per hour?

Updated: Nov 5, 2021

The first question we think of when we need to get some work done is “how much is this going to cost me?”. A professional organizer likes any other professional charges for their services. While the amount an organizer charges depends on their experience, location, and clientele, you can expect to pay somewhere in the range of $50-$100 in Toronto. If you want to know more about pricing we are going to explain below the factors that determine how much you pay and how you can save money on a professional organizer.

1) Clientele

Just like any other business, some organizers target premium clients, so people that live in mansions, business owners, etc. They are going to be looking for more money per project and will charge higher rates for that reason. If you have a relatively simple project, it may be better for you to target someone that works with the everyday person and isn’t looking to charge you the most that they can.

2) Distance

If the organizer is going to have to drive a long distance to get to you then they are more likely to charge you a higher rate to compensate for both their time and gas money. They need to make a profit so any additional cost to time or money will be reflected in a higher rate. Therefore as a buyer, you want to target someone as close to your area as possible.

3) Experience

The more experience that an organizer has the more you can expect to pay them. While experience does give you more confidence that they will do a good job, you may want to make sure that you aren’t overpaying for what you need to be done. For example, if you have multiple rooms in your home or a complete home to reorganize then it makes sense to get a highly experienced organizer but if it’s just one room or a garage then maybe go for someone less experienced and cheaper.
